Real projects I've built and shaped: what each one was, and what it set out to do.

ART-IE · Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland

An EU-funded federated-learning platform: refactoring a complex legacy codebase across Go, Cassandra, and microservices, with a data-privacy focus.

The problem
ART-IE is a large EU research platform (Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland) whose complexity had built up across many contributors over the years.
The approach
I untangled the existing front end, introduced clearer structure, and improved how maintainable it was, modernising parts of the platform, including DevOps work on its build and deploy, without disrupting the work already in flight.
The outcome
A more maintainable codebase that future contributors could work in with more confidence.

Appsemble · d-centralize, Eindhoven

SaaS platform work as a software engineer: features across the platform, a GUI and code-editor rework for responsiveness across devices, usability improvements, and systematic bug elimination.

The problem
Appsemble, built at d-centralize, is an extensible SaaS platform that needs continuous feature work while staying stable in production.
The approach
I built and maintained production features across the front end, including UX and UI improvements across components and sections, working inside an established engineering team and adapting as the requirements evolved.
The outcome
Shipped production functionality and cleaner component UX while the platform kept evolving, without trading away maintainability.

The first conversation is free and in plain words. Then a paid feasibility report gives you the direction, the honest cost, and the right way forward, so you commit with confidence instead of building blind. source: How I work · step 03
